I am one of those people who feel that music really has to hit a spot for you, whatever spot it is, and it sometimes hits harder than expected. This song I discovered by downloading the Gears of War trailer on the XBOX Live marketplace for my 360, then after lots of fishing found that it was from Gary Jules and he did a version for the soundtrack of Donnie Darko, enjoy it:

There is a part of the song where he sings “AND I FIND IT KIND OF FUNNY, FIND IT KIND OF SAD, THE DREAMS IN WHICH I’M DYING ARE THE BEST I’VE EVER HAD.” very intriguing to me.
